The Rapidan Wildlife Management Area is a very large area of mostly forested, rugged mountain terrain located primarily in Madison County, Virginia. Many parts of the Wildlife Management Area border the Shenandoah National Park, and outdoor adventure opportunities are numerous. If you are 17 years old or older, you will need an Access Permit, unless you possess a valid Virginia Hunting or Fishing license. There are a few other exceptions as well depending on your circumstances. Hunting and fishing are the main uses of the Rapidan area, but wildlife viewing, hiking, primitive camping, and many other opportunities also exists. There are numerous streams and creeks draining the area, including the Rapidan River that is highlighted in this video. Thanks for watching!
