Letting Go by Shawn P

This is Shawn P. I’m a student at the University of Houston studying video production and business. I’ve been in school my whole life and I feel very much like I’m just now getting to the point where I can start to make a living out of my passion of creativity. I’m an artist at heart. I can create an entire video from scratch and I love it.

Shawn P once told me, “I’ve been putting off writing my own post for a while. I feel like it’s time, so I want to write about writing my own blog. There are a few things I’ve learned along the way, that I think might help others, so I wanted to share them.”

It’s been a rough couple of months for me. After a period of uncertainty and even more change, I’ve finally found something to keep me going. It’s been a couple months since I started my blog, so I thought I would start a new post about some of the things I’ve been facing. Things haven’t gotten any easier, but I’m finally at a point where I’m giving up on the things that are holding me back.. Read more about letting go lyrics and let us know what you think.

The Buddha suggested that if one wants to be free from suffering, one must ultimately be willing to face the reality of letting go. If we want to achieve such clarity, such direction, such evolution and finally free ourselves from the torment that persists in our hearts and minds. If we allow the mind to turn and turn, we get nothing but turning and turning; agitation becomes anger, anger becomes vexation, and vexation becomes suffering. To end this cycle that life dictates and torments you, you must turn to yourself and face what is causing this tension.

To end such a cycle, we must first allow ourselves to face the truth – the ugliest truth of all. Such an encounter with truth will enable one to welcome true liberation immediately. The fact that your situation is unbearable only means that you are taking the sting out of the suffering. Meet face to face, forgive, and truly free the mind from its habit of returning to the thought or memory of the cause of suffering. From a spiritual standpoint, you just have to go back to managing consciousness within yourself; focus on what is right in front of you.

Even if it was recent, we are not grateful for it. But only the mind creates every second of this experience and only the mind suffers. To get rid of the cause of suffering, you have to face it, say goodbye to it, and stop getting entangled again by reconnecting with the presence of the moment you are in. This here and now moment has the unique power to release your past, dissolve your present suffering and welcome you into a future of clarity and pure truth – happiness will come where there is no light.

Empty yourself of what was to allow a pure and happy form of yourself to break through. Visualize getting rid of what no longer serves you; clearly feel the smell of the here and now. See that even what was is no more; the presence of this moment allows you to truly release your suffering and relax into your true nature. What if peace and hope could return to us here and now?
